Caplyta

Generic name: lumateperone (LOO ma TE per one)
Brand name: Caplyta
Drug class: Atypical antipsychotics

Caplyta capsules contain lumateperone, an antipsychotic medicine.

Caplyta is a once-daily capsule used to control the symptoms of schizophrenia in adults.

Although the physical cause of schizophrenia is unknown, it is believed that imbalances between chemicals, such as dopamine, serotonin, and glutamate, in the brain is the probable cause. The exact way Caplyta works is unknown but it is thought to affect the balance of these brain-signaling chemicals to help control schizophrenia symptoms.
